Blind Memory

When the lived experience fades away and turns into a memory it becomes a
simulacrum, a deformed reminiscence of what it used to be.
Memory is nothing more than a deviated perception lost in the limbo of a transit, twisted like a tale of a dream.
Imagining a radical transformation, an anatomy shaped by the altered perception of oneself means materializing unknown, untraceable entities.
Would changing something which is external into internal look like this? The past is a portrait of what we are used to not looking at, it is too rooted within us to disappear in the darkness of the night: it weighs in the furrows of the orbits, in the ripples of every fracture. It contracts until it changes shape while the melancholy smell of the night becomes more intense and heavy, fracturing every vertebra and forcing it to bow down to its deep blue shades.

"Blind Memory" insinuates into reality cloaked in a dense and full-bodied
physics presence as an escape from a dark and unexplored dimension, a sort of collective
unconscious. It carries within it that primitive and wild shadow side that emerges overwhelmingly,
suddenly, materializing as a ancestral and precious mineral that came from an extraneous dimension.
Valeria Dardano condenses the power of a dark and magmatic microcosm in a convoluted and
metamorphic form.
Works are shaped by her hand as much as by the light which, entering every
cavity, agree to define the solids and voids of the sculptures that they thus appear to be made up of a
quivering organic matter that yes it offers to the observer's gaze as a residual legacy of an underwater
world. The work proposed by Valeria Dardano invites the viewer to reconnect to the depth of himself, It
encourages to seek out our side more feral which, in the ordinary state of consciousness, invariably
remains mostly buried and latent.
